The museum was instituted as part of the centenary celebrations of the engineer-statesman Sir M. Visvesvaraya (1861-1962). The objective of the Museum is to popularize science through interactive exhibits.
Visvesvaraya Museum is not a 'museum' in its classical sense, because it has interactive exhibits unlike stationary models of a museum. It is more of a "Science Centre."

Each floor of this museum is dedicated to a scientific discipline such as The Engine Hall, The Electro-Technic Gallery, Fun Science, and Space Gallery.

Bannerghatta Biological Park is located about 22 kilometers south from the city limits of Bangalore. It is one of the few places in the world where, wilderness is preserved so close to a big city.

A variety of mammals, reptiles, and birds of both exotic and Indian origin, around 1,414 animals across 73 known species are conserved here in captivity. In addition, there is a museum and an auditorium for the visitors’ education. Also, a Grand Safari and Boating are offered here.

Bannerghatta National Park remains closed on Tuesdays.

Bangalore is known as the Garden City. Lal Bagh houses India's largest collection of tropical plants with an aquarium and a lake.

It holds a number of flower shows, especially on the Republic Day. The garden has over 1,000 species of flora.

The bull referred to is a sacred Hindu demi-god, known as Nandi, who is a close devotee and attendant of Shiva. Dodda Basavana Gudi is said to be the biggest temple of Nandi in the world.

The stone cult image of Nandi is continually covered with new layers of butter, also known as benne in the local language, Kannada.

The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) temple in Bangalore city is a huge cultural complex that was inaugurated in 1997.
